Our services

Corporate Law and Tax

Corporate law and taxation affect a company throughout its lifecycle. ABConsult combines business, legal-management, finance, and tax experience to help local and international clients organise their obligations and make informed decisions.

Corporate-law support

Depending on the engagement and the client’s needs, our support may cover:

  • company formation, incorporation documents, registrations, and governance arrangements;
  • commercial contract review, negotiation support, and drafting coordination;
  • guidance for directors on responsibilities connected with transactions, financing, employment, and restructuring;
  • regulatory-compliance planning; and
  • amicable dispute resolution and coordination with authorised counsel when court representation is required.

Corporate tax

Tax rules shape cash flow, profitability, investment capacity, and compliance risk. We help clients interpret applicable requirements, organise filings, identify supported deductions, credits, and exemptions, and reduce avoidable errors without promising a particular tax outcome.

From 1 January 2026, the Democratic Republic of Congo’s direct-tax framework centres on Corporate Income Tax (IS) and Personal Income Tax (IRPP). The obligations that apply to a client depend on its legal form, activities, workforce, transactions, tax period, and any transitional rules.

Indirect taxes, including value-added tax and applicable customs duties, also require careful collection, reporting, and payment processes.

Tax assistance

Within the scope of an agreed engagement and the authority granted by the client, ABConsult can prepare or review filings and support payment administration for relevant obligations, including:

  • IS — corporate income tax;
  • IRPP — personal income tax, including applicable employer withholding and reporting obligations;
  • VAT — value-added tax;
  • applicable customs duties and tariffs; and
  • other obligations confirmed for the client’s circumstances under current law.

Final treatment depends on current law and the client’s facts. ABConsult does not provide court representation or exercise authority reserved by law. When a regulated opinion or authorised representation is required, the client engages an appropriately authorised professional.
